This is part of a left hand door lock latch assembly, with shim. Very similar to  MG TC, TD, TF, Austin Healey – however it may be a blank because does not have all the holes drilled yet. Please examine photos carefully, this might be just the item you need to customise to fix your troublesome door.  New Old Stock. Please see photo(s) - they form part of the description.
