Original USED set of SU H6 AUC 6040 AA fixed jet Carburettors (1 3/4") and hand scribed below with 4067. One float bowl is stamped 1208D with aluminium tag AUC 828 and the other is an earlier style Auxiliary Enrichment (Thermo) integrated Carburetter bowl which is stamped 3256 and the system is complete including feed or link tube to the manifold of a Jaguar, part number C2388 (manifold not included).  At a point in the life of this set of carburettors someone for whatever reason (maybe under bonnet aesthetics? or replacement supply availability? for either the two SU H6 carbies or the Thermo Auxiliary) opted to fit an early style thermo carburettor to the rear carburettor, as was fitted to the first 2500 Jaguar XK 120 engines.  The float bowl lids are stamped 1161 & 1161 respectively and a tag numbered AUC828. The suction chambers are marked with a Z on top adjacent to the damper tube, the pistons are marked AUC 3283, the piston spring is coloured red on one end. They have RG Needles which according to Burlens were fitted to Jaguar 6 cylinder XK's 8:1 Compression Ratio with a 'C Type' Head, RG Needles were fitted as well to a number of other spec'd SU setups for various makes & models . It is also possible that the 6040 AA with the hand scribed 4067 were/could be fitted to an Austin Healey 100M (Le Mans) as we understand they were fitted with this type of numbered SU carburettor as well.  It is possible that a set of Healey 100M SU 6040 AA were used to make up this set for a Jaguar XK 120/140 at some point, maybe when the earlier type Thermo enrichment device was added or the existing carburettors were replaced with later carburettors - that is all speculation and guess work. Both carburettor bodies have N 12 stamped on the flange which is the date code for December 1956, as there is no Needle Code stamped on the flange alongside the date code this is apparently representative of the time period when SU stopped stamping needle codes on the flanges and also matches up to the AUC6040 AA which was the third and last of the three series of 6040 carburettors. Given that they are fitted with an original Jaguar fuel feed pipe C3810, and manifold link pipe this would point to the likely hood that this set of SU's is from either an XK120 or XK140,  also included are banjos, over flow pipes and linkages  as shown in the photos.  They have been in a box in dry storage and appear in very good used condition, the pistons rise and fall freely. Note: there is no oil in the dampers, the butterflies open and close fully, the spindles have no discernible wear, they are an exceptionally good pair of carburettors.

Please see photos as they form part of the description.
