Smiths 12 Volt two directional single speed motor, New Old Stock, Code E50501. This motor is marked as being Made in Australia as it is single speed it is felt that it could be for a cooling fan or early heater van. The rotation direction change between Clockwise and Anticlockwise is by change of polarity by way of the two spade connectors on opposite sides of the motor. Possibly for a Land rover Series 2 or other earlier overseas vehicles seeking Australian content.
